Berlin - mobility sharing

Mauer park Berlin 2019

I was this w.e. in Berlin. for a rowing sightseeing tour, that went all the way from the Western part near Potsdam till the East and back. Before that a little stroll through Berlin and a must visit to the Mauer Park with creativity in action

Ruderclub am Wannsee e.v. Berlin
About 80 kilometers rowing in one w.e., a good exercise!
The local rowing club had an agreement with the company Bayer as an employee benefit; hence the names of the rowing boat ASPIRIN :)

I arrived on Friday and spotted some of the mobility sharing  equipment on the streets of Berlin.  It is interesting to see that compared to Brussels, it seems that there are some serious local players that have a pretty good market share, and that they did not have to stop.

Cars
Not on the picture: Drive Now with the cars, and 5 other providers of car sharing facilities.

Parking in Berlin: I was not by car, but still was amazed by the number of mobile apps that provide a payment solution to park your car.  You can pay by credit card, with coins or with one of the 7 other payment solutions partner of the city of Berlin.
Handyparken

Roller scooters
Coup e-scooter sharing
Coup, a Subsidiary of Bosch group offers e-scooting services in Belrn in these neat colours.

Also Emmy  share e-scooter with a complete red solution for two passengers.

Bikes and e-bikes

Deezer Next Bike offers  station based bikes inmost of Berlin for short or longer term rentals.

Donkey republic bikes are seen a little everywhere and and also have solutions for short or long term bike rental

Lidl e-bike in cooperation with Deutsche Bahn : from an unusual partner, the retail chain Lidl has an e-bike service in free floating mode.

Moobike normal and easy to pick up bikes

Uber e-bike Jump is also present in Berlin.

Than there is the Swap longer term monthly bike rental

and also Byke offering services in Berlin.

Scooters
These seem quite popular in group, as i have seen tourists strolling around with them - there is a fee if you drive through a pedestrian area.

Lime
Note the little identification number on the Lime scooter

Bird scooters in front of the Pergamom museum.

Circ scooters on the pathway.  I must admit that the surface is much more friendlier for scooters than parts of the streets in Brussels with the potholes.
And also Moo, Voi and Tier are present as  supplier

As a conclusion, for an update, overview  and legislation, check out the official Berlin page on shared mobility

It  is no surprise to see that the sharing economy principles have been adopted fast in Berlin, as it is compatible with the cheap and vibrant lifestyle of the city 'immer in bewegung'.
Looking forward to my next visit.
